About this Policy

This Privacy Policy describes the information that Virbac Corporation (Virbac or we) collects about you on Internet websites, applications and other interactive services we provide for use on mobile phones, tablets, personal computers and other devices that connect to the Internet (Site or Sites), how we use that information, how we protect it, and the choices you may make about it.

This Privacy Policy applies to your use of our Sites, social media interactions on our Sites and third party websites like Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, Google+, Instagram and Twitter, and viewing our online advertisements.

If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please exit the Site immediately. Otherwise, your access and use of the Site will be deemed acceptance of these terms.

Information We Collect and Use

In general, we collect three types of information:

  • Personal data you actively give to us (for example, during registration, sweepstakes, or content submission) through your access to or usage of the Sites. Your personal data includes information that could be used to identify you, such as your name, address, email address, telephone number, etc.
  • Information we automatically collect about your computer or wireless devices (such as IP address, cookie ID, or other unique device identifiers).
  • Information we collect from third parties, including through third-party social media providers with whom you have registered.
    How We Collect Information

We collect information directly from you:

  • If you register for our Sites or sign up for our Newsletter
  • If you use an online forum, submit feedback data or provide us with comments or reviews
  • If you upload or share a photo, submit information, or post other digital content through one of our Sites or via social media interactions on third party websites
  • If you participate in a Virbac-sponsored sweepstakes, contest, promotion, program, clinic or workshop
  • If you apply or inquire about employment with Virbac

We may also collect location data obtained from your IP address or your smart device and collect information about you and your use of the Sites through the use of "cookies." Cookies are small data files sent to your browser and stored on your computer's hard drive when you visit certain Sites, thereby "tracking" use of the Site. Some browsers can be set to reject all cookies; if you choose to modify your browser in this manner, some pages of the Sites may not function properly. Virbac uses the information generated through the use of cookies to estimate the number of people that are using the Sites and to track the pages of the Site that are being visited. This information tells Virbac about user interests and behaviors which can, in turn, be used to provide you with information about products, services, features, or promotions that may be of interest to you.

Consent

We do not collect your personal data except when you voluntarily provide it. Whenever you provide either optional or required information through your access to or usage of the Sites, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of that information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

How We Use Your Information

Virbac uses your personal data to improve the content of the Sites, to customize the Sites to your preferences, to create a profile about you in order to show you content that may be of interest to you, to provide the services and features requested by you and, if you ask us, to send you information about products, services, features, or promotions that may be of interest to you. Virbac may also use your personal data to create aggregated information that does not allow you to be personally identified or contacted. Rather than showing individual activity, aggregated information shows user behavior as a whole. Aggregated information is used for Site development and to market and promote the Sites. Virbac may disclose your personal data to those of its affiliates and related companies that agree to treat it substantially in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Virbac does not sell your information, but we may share your information with our affiliates and certain third parties who provide services on Virbac’s behalf. Virbac reserves the right to disclose your personal data to:

(i) third party service providers for purposes related to supporting our business (e.g., fulfillment services, technical support, delivery services) and providing you with information that may be of interest to you (if you have requested to receive such information as described above) in which case Virbac will require such third parties to agree to treat it substantially in accordance with this Privacy Policy; and

(ii) to third parties in connection with the sale, assignment, or other transfer of the business of this Site to which the information relates, in which case Virbac will require any such buyer, assignee, or transferee to agree to treat it substantially in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Virbac may disclose aggregated information that does not allow you to be personally identified to its affiliates and related companies and to unaffiliated third parties.

Virbac also reserves the right to release your personal data to third parties in the following limited circumstances and to the extent permitted by law:

(i) if a law, regulation, search warrant, subpoena, or court order permits or requires it to do so;

(ii) if the rights or property of Virbac, its affiliates or related companies, third party service providers, or the users of the Site are in jeopardy; or

(iii) if the personal safety of users of the Site or other members of the public are in jeopardy.

How We Protect Your Personal Data

Recognizing that your privacy is important to you, Virbac employs technical security measures to protect your personal data. However, no transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Consequently, to the extent permitted by law, Virbac, its affiliates and related companies, third party service providers and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents do not represent, warrant, or guarantee that personal data will be protected against misuse, loss, or alterations and do not accept any liability arising from the submission of any personal data or from any third parties' use or misuse of personal data. Virbac uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology in transmitting such information to our servers to help ensure the integrity and privacy of the information. Encryption involves systematically scrambling numbers and letters, so that even if someone managed to intercept the information, they would not be able to make sense of it. In order to take advantage of this encryption technology, you need to have an Internet browser that will support encryption, such as Safari or Microsoft Explorer. As an additional security measure, the information you provide via the Internet is also kept physically separate on a separate server where your password is encrypted and stored on a database. We take reasonable precautions against the unauthorized access to or loss of your information, always with the goal of keeping our security up to date as cyber threats change. Despite such precautions, there is always a chance of unauthorized access to or loss of your information. If you think a third party has accessed your information, please contact us immediately as instructed below.

Links to Other Websites

You should be aware that operators of linked websites may also collect your personal data (including information generated through the use of cookies) when you link to their websites. Virbac is not responsible for how such third parties collect, use, or disclose your personal data, so you should check their privacy policies before providing them with your personal data.
